New Kittens!!

It's been a very busy few weeks here. Fudge gave birth to a new litter of kittens at the end of March. There are 7 in total, her first litter of kittens with our new stud boy Magnus. Fudge has always been a great mother so she took to her duties once again and kept her kittens well fed and clean. They're all really cute and love sitting on our laps now when they're out exploring.

Below are some more recent pictures showing how nicely the kittens are developing.

It has turned out that 3 of the kittens are Burmese variants. I'm not 100% what colours they are yet but it looks like they're developing as chocolate like their mum. The remaining 4 kittens are all standard Burmillas, either chocolate shaded or lilac shaded, again the colours are still very pale so it's hard to be sure yet exactly what colours they are. They'll develop more in the next few weeks making it more clear. All the kittens carry the burmese colour restriction gene, which lightens the colour on the body even more.

The smallest kitten in the litter, a Burmilla, is so friendly and just wants to sit beside me all the time. Here's a picture of her curled up asleep by herself.

Here's one of the variants and one of the Burmillas illustrating nicely the difference between the shaded pattern of the Burmilla, which looks lighter and more dynamic as the cats move and more of the pale undercoat shows through, compared with the more even colour on the body of the variants.

All the Burmilla kittens and one of the variants lying together after an exhausting run around.

Of course sleeping also turns into another round of play fighting! The kittens are so lively at this stage and fun to be around. I can start to see their personalities coming through too.

The kittens are coming up to 8 weeks very soon and the process begins to have them vaccinated and registered before they go on to their new homes. At this point 3 of the kittens are already booked so there are only four available. If anyone is interested in any of the remaining available kittens (both Burmilla and Burmese variants are still available), please do not hesitate to get in touch.
